- It is more convenient and easier to turn off UAC through the registry. To do this, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System in Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and change the EnableLUA value to 0.
