Steps to disable IGMP proxy:

If you want to forbid/ disable IGMP proxy, you can follow the below steps:

  • First of all go to “Network Connections” on PC.
  • Then click on “Local Area Connection“.
  • On clicking the LAN icon, select “Details” and note down the IP address displayed.
  • To open the setup page, you enter the IP address of your router in the search bar of the web browser.
  • The next important step is to locate the Bridging folder, after which you navigate to the Multicast menu.
  • You have to scroll down to IGMP Proxy and click on “Enable IGMP Proxy Status“, which will uncheck the box.
  • Click on the “Apply” button to finish the proceedings.

Steps to enable IGMP proxy:

To enable IGMP proxy, follow the steps below:

  • First choose Routing > IGMP Proxy.
  • Afterwards check to enable IGMP proxy to allow router and nodes to communicate with each other.
  • Then choose Upstream Interface from the drop-down list.
  • WAN-Auto The router supports multi-WAN. If WAN Auto mode is selected, the router must select the active WAN as the upstream port.
  • If multiple WANs are operational and operating in load balancing mode, the WAN port with the lowest port number will be the upstream port. For example, if WAN1 and WAN2 are in load-balance mode, if WAN1 is down, WAN 2 will be the upstream port.
  • Fixed interface always uses the selected port as the upstream port, even if it is down.
  • Now select Downstream Interface, WAN or VLAN1.
  • Click Apply.
