Here are 2 ways to clear Steam download cache :-

Way 1

  1. Open the Steam application.
  2. You need to launch the application on your Mac computer.
  3. Click the “Steam” menu.
  4. You could see this in the upper left corner of your screen when you are in the application.
  5. After locating it, click on “Preferences”.
  6. There will be a pop-up window that will open after clicking it.
  7. Click on Downloads. In the pop-up window, locate the Downloads tab.
  8. Clear Download Cache.
  9. In the lower right part of the window after clicking the downloads tab
  10. Now you will see the “clear download cache” button.
  11. Click on it.
  12. Next Log in to your Steam account.
  13. After clearing the download cache, the platform will automatically log you out of your account.
  14. Now you can just sign in again and see if there are any changes in the performance of the platform.
  15. By this, we mean the reduction of lag time or games loading faster than before.

Way 2

  1. First go to Finder.
  2. Now click the Go menu.
  3. Then choose the option of Go To Folder.
  4. Find the following Locations one by one:
    • Library/caches
    • Library/Logs
    • Library/Preferences
    • Library/Application Support/Steam
  5. Look for folders that are related to Steam applications.
  6. Drag the files mentioned previously to trash.
  7. Make sure to empty the trash off your computer.
