Private Internet Access Netflix was one of the most popular VPNs for Netflix service. VPNs were using globally by many streaming geeks to unblock restricted content and bypass geo-restrictions. Private Internet Access is commonly known as PIA and has 3226 servers in 33 countries around the world. Read the blogs to know how to use Pia with Netflix.
Company representatives have publicly mentioned that Netflix blacklists PIA’s servers. PIA sometimes unblocks those catalogs and it can also unblock some regional Net-flix libraries.
PIA users cannot access the US Netflix library anywhere other than the US.
Does PIA work with Netflix?
PIA does not work to unblock Net-flix as it used to provide servers from Silicon Valley to access Netflix and all those servers are now banned. But PIA can bypass the geo-restrictions of the Netflix library.
Earlier PIA used to work with Netflix. But some time back Netflix has stopped providing access to Netflix via VPN crackdown allowing PIAs to bypass library geo-restrictions. Many thanks to Netflix VPN Crackdown for that.
PIA Netflix Workaround –
PIA does not work to unblock it because it used to provide servers from Silicon Valley to access it and all those servers are now banned.
How to Use PIA to Get Netflix?
Steps for PIA Netflix Workaround :
- Configure the router you are using in dd-wrt and then connect it to any United States PIA server.
- Now, download PIA Client for Windows and connect to the US server on your PC or laptop.
- Once you have, both your PC and router connected to a VPN server, try to access Netflix. The geo-restriction will be bypassed and you will have access to the US Netflix library.
If this solution sounds complicated to you, try using an alternative VPN service such as ExpressVPN, PureVPN or NordVPN, which require no workaround. ExpressVPN Netflix and NordVPN Netflix servers are amazing in terms of bypassing their restrictions and speeds.
Why won’t PIA unblock Netflix?
As stated earlier, PIA decided not to engage in the massive whack-a-mole game with it, essentially providing support for geo-blocked content.
A VPN requires a huge amount of resources to work with Netflix. The provider needs to monitor which servers are IP blacklisted.
Netflix is known to block a full range of IP addresses, even from a single data center. On the part of a VPN, it can be very expensive to fix.
Private Internet Access simply decided not to play that game.
With a strong 99-location worldwide server network, they clearly have the resources. As such – providing the highest privacy and security they are known for.
Final Throughs on PIA and Netflix
A few years back, it was great to watch Netflix with Private Internet Access. Because he did a good job. But these days haven’t worked out so well.
If it decided to ban the use of VPNs, the PIA also took measures, deciding not to try to get around that. Instead, they took their service in a different direction, focusing on user privacy and security.
But, some of PIA’s servers will still unblock Netflix, if you do after using it consistently, so you’ll have to look to other providers. And currently, no VPN does its job better than NordVPN.
