Printer not Printing

There are many reasons if printer not printing so start with the basics such as checking to see whether there is an error message or warning light on the printer. Make sure there is paper in the tray(s), check the ink or toner cartridges aren’t empty, the USB cable is plugged in or the printer is connected to Wi-Fi.

As with most computer problems, you should begin with the easiest solutions before moving on to more advanced troubleshooting steps. First, make sure the printer is on and has paper in the tray. You may also want to check that it has ink if you are using an inkjet printer. Next, check to make sure the printer cable is properly connected to both the computer and the printer.

What to do when Printer not Printing ?

Since printers have many aspects, they have a variety of problems. Ideally, it’s best to check the basics first.

1. Overuse/Underuse of Printer :

Sometimes our printer face this issue due to overheating. The printer may suddenly crash or stop printing. Printer will stop working if your printer has been idle for too long and dust has accumulated because sometimes dust can interfere with the connections inside. Manage the balance for printing needs.

2. Paper Jams :

The printer can be clueless and get stuck/stop printing when the papers are not placed properly. So, firstly turn off your printer and slowly take out the paper from both the rear tray and output tray. Now, insert the papers again and turn on your printer back.

3. Dry Ink Cartridges :

The ink cartridges may have dried up, causing your printer to print blank pages. You’ll need to refill the ink cartridges or need new inks and a syringe for printer purposes to refill it yourself.

  • Outdated Printer Driver
  • Poor Windows configuration
  • Low toner
  • Incorrect font
  • Your printer is in offline mode.

4. Printer Queue :

There are old pending documents to print in your print queue.

  • Go to Devices < control panel.
  • Select your printer and click on See what’s printing.
  • Open the HP printer’s menu < Open As Administrator.
  • Go back to the printer menu < Cancel All Documents.
  • You’ll get a pop-up option asking you to confirm canceling the queue. Click on Yes.
