Universal Credit Login
Universal Credit acts as a payment for your cost of living to help you. UC was first announced in 2010. Universal Credit (UC) was introduce in 2013 in an effort to simplify the welfare system by ‘rolling‘ six means-tested benefits and tax credits into one monthly payment. But Universal Credit has been criticized in recent years. Universal Credit Login is a means-tested benefit for low-income working-age people.
UC has been replaced with six instrument-tested benefits –
- Income support.
- Income-based job-seekers’ allowance (JSA).
- Income Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
- Housing benefit.
- Child tax credit.
- Working Tax Credit.
Universal Credit is paid monthly. In Scotland, you can choose to pay it twice a month. You may be able to get it if you are on a low income, out of work or cannot work.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determines how much money you get in two steps:
- Decide what you think you need to live based on the circumstances of your home.
- In this it takes some part of your income.
Note: Universal Credit came into limelight when the High Court ruled that the Department of Works and Pensions, the government department overseeing the implementation of UC, had illegally discriminated against.

If you have an account with Universal Credit, you can login to access your claim information and manage your account. To UC login –
- Visit the Universal Credit website.
- Now enter your username and password.
Note: If you have forgot your password, you can reset it by following the instructions on our website.
- Click on the “Sign-in” button after entering your name and password.
- Then enter the security question you created when you created your account, and click “Confirm“.
Do need to claim Universal Credit?
You must have a bank, building society, credit union or post office account to claim Universal Credit. If you are making a joint claim, then only one of you will need the account. You can use a relative or friend’s bank account for your first payment with their permission.
