MSN stands for Microsoft Network which is a web portal and collection of Internet services provided by Microsoft and launched on August 24, 1995 to coincide with the release of Windows 95.

Microsoft has used the ‘MSN’ brand name for a wide variety of products and services over the years, the company hopes to use its simplified, integrated user interface as the front-end for its upcoming .NET products, including future versions of Microsoft Windows, WebTV, and other Web-enabled devices.

How to use MSN?

Using MSN is incredibly simple – you just have to visit its website and that’s it. You can easily work with the once the website loads, you can read the news or perform other tasks.

Although MSN works in every browser, we recommend you to use it in Opera. To use the RSS functionality in Opera, go to Settings, and add the Personal news tab to the sidebar.

Set up the MSN :

  1. Open a new browser, go to https://membercenter.msn.com/article.aspx?pa=MC_ART_DownloadMSNSoftware.
  2. Sign-in using the primary email account.
  3. Click on install option to download the latest software.
  4. Click “Run” when prompted and follow the download instructions.
  5. On your desktop you should now see an icon “Installer” and wait for a while.
  6. On the “Are you currently connected to the Internet?” page please selects “I’m currently connected to the Internet” and click Next.
  7. On the next screen please enter your email address/password and click Next.
  8. Enter your name shown on the Review and sign the agreements page and click “I Accept”.
  9. Click Next to complete installation.
  10. Once the installation has completed the install wizard will close and you should click on the MSN.exe on your desktop to launch the MSN Client.
