What is numeric value ?
Numerical value refers to a real number. whatever its sign may be. such as absolute value. Fixed Quantity – A specific measure of amount.
The numeric value may refer to any of the following :
- Numeric is anything of, relating to, or containing numbers. The numbering system consists of ten different digits : 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. If a value is an alphanumeric, it contains letters and numbers.
- A numeric keypad is a part of a keyboard, or an external device, that allows users to enter numbers more quickly into a computer. The numeric keypad has a layout similar to a basic calculator.
- Numeric is the original name of the NumPy Python package.
How can a numerical value be displayed ?
- When a numeric value requires a format other than the default, select a number range in the Text Format window.
For example, if you want an analog value to display a specific number of decimal places.
- Define any formatting requirements using the fields available at the bottom of the Sample area of the window.
As you define the format, the example in the sample area updates to show what the value will look like on lists, trends and duplicates, etc.
How can you enter numeric values in each of the ways ?
The first way to enter a numeric value –
- To enter a numerical value in the answer box as follows : – Type any acceptable character or symbol.
E.g. -> 0-9, decimal point (.), and operators (+, -, *, /). And then select the appropriate format template.
- Enter an equivalent keyboard shortcut.
E.g. -> ^ (allows you to insert an exponent).
Another way to enter a numeric value –
- Type any acceptable character or symbol.
